This festive season, like last year, we have adapted our events to accommodate the current circumstances. Over the month of December, we will host a number of experiences such as, a special children's remembrance Christmas tree for our community to decorate with personalised ornaments at both Springvale Botanical Cemetery and Bunurong Memorial Park.

Due to ongoing high COVID case numbers and to protect the vulnerable members of our community, we have designed a new way for you to honour your annual remembrance traditions in a safe and socially distanced way.

We have reached out to families who we have supported with services in the past. While invitations were only sent to those whose contact details had been provided, all are welcome to join. If you would like to be sent an email invitation for next years’ service or future events, please notify our Events team (events@smct.org.au)

We have an online tribute option available through our website for anyone who wishes to leave a personal message and cannot visit in person.

Our Children’s Remembrance event acknowledges that every child is special and unique. In honour of this, we have chosen to decorate our Children’s Remembrance Christmas Trees with snowflake ornaments that you can personalise with a name. Over the month of December, one of these Christmas trees will stand proudly in our Children’s area. This is a sacred space for those who wish to visit over the coming weeks to reflect and decorate the tree with personalised tribute ornaments.

Yes. We are also proud to host a special Children's Christmas tree at Bunurong Memorial Park for the whole month of December, located at the Solace Gardens.

The snowflake ornaments can be personalised with the name of the child that has passed.

When your ornament is ready to be collected, you will receive a notification email from us to let you know. Ornaments can be collected from Customer Care at your collection location between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:30 pm, up until Wednesday 22 December.

You will be advised to attend your pick-up location from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm, up until Wednesday 22 December, to collect your ornament. If you cannot attend during these times, a member of our team will carefully place the ornament on the tree on your behalf once the collection period has ended. You are very welcome to visit the tree any time our grounds are open.

This year we are proud to host a live music remembrance event at Bunurong Memorial Park. 'Together by the lake' will take place amongst beautiful scenery, with a selection of food trucks and refreshments available. Yes, if you wish to attend our live music remembrance event 'Together by the lake' please register your interest by filling out the form on our website. However, our children’s remembrance Christmas tree is available for you to visit at your convenience and does not require prior registration.
