Please note, orders for ornaments are now closed, but you are still welcome to visit the tree at either Bunurong Memorial Park or Springvale Botanical Cemetery. Please refer to 'Step 2: Visit the tree' below.

If you have ordered an ornament, you will be notified via email when it is ready to collect.

Remembering your child this Christmas

If you are grieving the loss of a child, Christmas can be a challenging and overwhelming time. Nothing can take the pain of loss away. However, many members of our community find that creating a memorial ritual to honour the life of a precious child can be helpful.

Located at both Springvale Botanical Cemetery and Bunurong Memorial Park, the Children's Christmas Remembrance Trees are sacred spaces created especially for families that have lost a child. You are warmly invited to visit either tree to reflect and remember - and if you wish, pre-order a complimentary ornament inscribed with the name of the child you have loved and lost to place on the tree.

Step 2: Visit the tree

When your ornament is ready for collection, you will receive an email to let you know.

Once you have received your confirmation email, you will be able to collect your ornament from Customer Care between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm, up until Wednesday 22 December. Our team will also direct you to the tree. If you are unable to attend during this time, a member of our team will place the ornament on the tree on your behalf.

Please note that due to the Victorian government directives and the safety of our community, anyone wishing to pick up an ornament must be double vaccinated. You may also designate someone else to collect your family's ornament on your behalf if you are not yet fully vaccinated.

Our Christmas trees will remain on-site for the month of December, and you are very welcome to visit any time our grounds are open. You can locate Customer Care at your chosen location using the maps below.

Remembering our children

In these changing times, life has been markedly different for many of our community. However, it is still so important to be able to come together and remember our loved ones. We have adapted our events to accommodate current social distancing directives, and are excited to welcome families back on-site this year for a chance to celebrate, honour and reflect in a safe and respectful way.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our Children's Christmas Remembrance Trees. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the SMCT Events team.
