Welcome to Bunurong Memorial Park
Established in 1995, Bunurong Memorial Park in Dandenong South is a contemporary sanctuary designed to honour and celebrate life in an Australian setting. The park won Gold in the 2018 Driven x Design Melbourne Design Awards.
Featuring a welcoming alfresco café and florist, children’s playground, and walking paths for quiet reflection with multipurpose reflection spaces and chapels, crematorium and function facilities. Visitors can also walk their dog, have a picnic, go birdwatching, or explore the park by bike.
This space invites everyone to visit, reflect, and remember life. Whether you’re here to pay your respects or seek information, we are committed to supporting you with compassion and care.

At SMCT, we are equally committed to caring for and protecting our precious environment. All of our locations are situated on hectares of beautiful land with a wide range of native flora and fauna. We not only want to care for this environment, but also help it to flourish and thrive. We provide spaces for funerals, memorials, and wakes, with function rooms and chapels conveniently located within walking distance of each other.

This impressive multi-purpose venue, with corrugated metal exterior and floor-to-ceiling windows is partially suspended over Lake Australis.
The Southern Aurora Centre

Iconic Australian landscape artists have inspired The Southern Aurora Centre’s five contemporary fully-equipped multi-purpose rooms for any occasion.
Cirrus
- Bunurong Memorial Park
A modern, smaller reflection space with large glass doors, light-coloured wooden pews, projector screens and a serene outdoor water feature.
Stratus
- Bunurong Memorial Park
Our larger, modern reflection space with rows of light-coloured wooden pews in a bright and airy atmosphere. This space can be opened up for larger gatherings.
Cumulus

Our medium-sized reflection space with rows of light-coloured wooden pews in a bright and airy atmosphere. This space can be opened up for larger gatherings.
Saint Lazarus Greek Orthodox Church
A traditional-style church with a red-tiled roof and a characteristic dome used by the Greek community as a dedicated place of reflection.
Café Vita et flores
Located within Bunurong Memorial Park, Café Vita et flores (Latin for ‘life and flowers’) is a charming café and florist offering visitors seasonal dishes, hot coffee, floral arrangements and a tranquil setting to relax and reflect.
