Working in our Operations team, you’ll be helping with the maintenance and presentation of one of our eleven unique open spaces across Melbourne's south-east. This means a permanent role, with opportunities to grow and learn, family friendly hours and a safe working environment.

Hospitality

You’ll discover a hospitality and floristry career that goes beyond expectations. You’ll be providing high quality experiences, but in a family focused, balanced working environment. No nights, limited weekends and a breathtaking natural setting, with an organisation that puts people first. We operate two bustling cafés and also provide modern function spaces that cater for our diverse community.

Traineeships
We are investing the next generation of horticulturists helps provide valuable knowledge and best practice to the industry. Over the past ten years, six SMCT employees have received a total of eight awards including Outstanding Apprentice of the Year at their level, and the much-coveted award of "Outstanding Student of the Year Holmesglen Parks and Gardens".
Partnering with HolmesglenExternal site, Melbourne PolytechnicExternal site, Swinburne University and Swinburne TAFEExternal site, SMCT also provides essential training experience for students studying Arboriculture, Landscape and Horticulture subjects. Springvale Botanical Cemetery features over 12,000 trees alone and that’s only one of eleven locations in the trust. The scale provides a unique environment for students to consider variables not usually seen in domestic situations.
Traineeships
12-month industry experience
University students can undertake a placement year in our communications team through our partnership with universities. Running for 3 years now, tasks can include supporting internal communications like SMCT’s employee app, staff newsletters and blog pieces.
