Our Services
We understand that everyone has the right to honour life the way they choose. We offer a culturally diverse range of burial and cremation memorial options to help families observe traditions and ceremonies important to them.
The gardens create a private place of reflection year-round, thanks to a skilled team who work to create a place of beauty and solace. To honour the promise and commemoration over many generations, Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) cares for the daily operations of St Kilda Cemetery, reporting directly to the Victorian Minister for Health. SMCT is committed to supporting the community honour and celebrate their loved one as they choose.
We understand memories are forever. St Kilda Cemetery is a tranquil setting that provides a safe place for generations to remember those who are important to them. We are committed to the future sustainability of our gardens and continually seek new innovative ways to reduce our impact while honouring the changing needs of our diverse community.
We can also assist with the searching of records, to help locate and reunite family memorials. For convenience, an online records service is available for some locations. Please contact us if you require any assistance.

St Kilda Cemetery History
By 1860 St Kilda was the preferred suburb of wealthy residents and there were three unsuccessful attempts by local landowners to have the cemetery closed. Standing proudly to this day, St Kilda Cemetery is one of Melbourne's longest and most significant history.
