SMCT is proud to be a Major Program Partner with Open House Melbourne on the Death + Design exploration at Bunurong Memorial Park in June 2024.
As custodians of nine cemeteries and memorial parks across Melbourne, SMCT is committed to sustainability and curating environments that empower diverse experiences of death and grief, uphold a meaningful legacy of history, heritage, and to minimise our environmental impact for current and future generations.
We explore this through the lens of intentional design, meaningful consultation and considered practice. Our vision is to look beyond the traditional role of cemeteries and memorial parks to create spaces that inspire and include: balancing the needs of today with the legacy of tomorrow.
