Supporting our community with care and wellbeing

"saying goodbye to someone we love, is not a single moment in time, but rather a never-ending process."

- Dr Alan Wolfelt+

Since the inaugural launch of the Centre for Care & Wellbeing (CCW) in 2017, we are proud to have supported over 3,000 members of the Victorian community, connecting people through more than 600 sessions and activities.

Within our new purpose-built space, officially opened on Wednesday 11 March 2020, we look forward to bringing hope to many, many more within our community as we continue to expand the ways in which we can serve our community.

This initiative is an Australian first and possibly a first for cemeteries worldwide, setting a new benchmark for the level of care cemeteries provide, by transforming them into places of community, connection and healing.

CCW was influenced by the groundbreaking work of renowned grief expert, Dr Alan Wolfet, and has quickly established itself as a valued space in which to commence the journey of healing, connection and friendship.

We have created a safe environment where participants can take the time needed during this significant time of loss, to reflect, remember and be reminded to take care of themselves physically and emotionally.

The journey of loss is inevitably one of sadness and pain, but we hope that all who use the facilities of the CCW are able to experience the warmth and beauty that emerges when people come together to offer kindness to one another.

"Whoever you are, wherever you are from, whatever your loss, you are respected and your pain is honoured here."

If you have experienced the loss of a loved one or know someone who is journeying through grieving, we encourage you to visit us at the Centre for Care & Wellbeing. While we do not profess to ease the grieving process, we are here for each and every person at a time when they need us most. All are welcome to book in for one of our sessions or simply join us for coffee and a chat, the Centre is open 10.00am – 3.00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
