Honouring the Festive Season Together
On Sunday 8 December, we were delighted to host more than 170 members of our community to our annual Christmas Carols on the Lawn held at Springvale Botanical Cemetery and hosted by the Centre for Care & Wellbeing (CCW).
It was wonderful to welcome accomplished singer Danielle Matthews as she led the Christmas Carols along with our highly acclaimed choir. The afternoon was filled with joy and festivity as we gently honoured the Christmas season together, providing companionship for people journeying through grief within a peaceful, reflective and inclusive environment.
We also had some wonderful feedback as our community expressed their enjoyment of the afternoon; "My husband and I attended Christmas Carols on the Lawn yesterday and we would like to compliment you on the wonderful program that you presented. The day was absolutely marvellous and ALL the performers gave their all, world-class artists for sure."
At Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust, we offer many ways to support our community through their loss and grief, including the Centre for Care & Wellbeing. We have created a safe environment where participants can take the time needed during this significant time of loss, to reflect, remember and be reminded to take care of themselves physically and emotionally.
If you feel that you need some additional support, visit us at the Centre for Care & Wellbeing, as we offer companionship and assist people throughout their journey of grief, loss and mourning.
