Developing resilience, inner strength and cultivating courage

"I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence but it comes from within. It is there all the time."

Anna Freud

Developing our capacity to be resilient, tapping into our inner strength and cultivating courage are essential qualities for maintaining overall balance, managing stress, and being able to deal with difficult emotions and situations.

Learning to be resilient can also help to make you stronger; with each challenge you encounter, you can develop new skills and new ways of dealing with life. Resilience and confidence often go together, resilience is the ability to bounce back from the challenges and pressures that life throws at us and maintain a positive outlook. People who are resilient generally have confidence in themselves and their ability to overcome setbacks.

An important part of being confident is believing in yourself! How you see yourself is crucial in building confidence and resilience...your self-esteem, self-respect and self-worth.

The traits of inner strength become our own toolbox of resources that we can draw on when needed, such as confidence, determination, belief, and motivation. Inner strength can positively assist in maintaining physical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing.
