Meet the team with the IT factor

Meet the team behind our systems and technology as they launch into November with a fresh new team and exciting goals, including enhanced customer-centricity and a focus on great service delivery. The team pride themselves on their diversity, with every member of the team coming to Australia from a different country from around the world including India, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Ireland and the United Kingdom. They’re also a bit sports mad (particularly about cricket but also F1 racing) and have taken a moment to tell us a little more about themselves.

Meet the team

Evan Delaney IT Manager

As our team manager, I am so proud of the team we’ve formed. Every team member brings an amazing knowledge of the IT industry, a real desire to work in the sector, to create a fulfilling work environment and to have the satisfaction of supporting and assisting our employees and customers, doing everything from individual setups to supporting chapel and function rooms. No day is ever the same at SMCT.

I’m the proud father of two teenage sons, Jack (15, who is now taller than his dad), and Angus (13). They both love playing video games, which has generated curiosity of the industry, as they now design and build their own games.

I’m looking forward to growing the IT function and ensuring we are set up for success as we transition the organisation through an exciting digital transformation.

Judy Niven IT Operations Team Leader

I love what we do at SMCT, assisting families in preparing their final journeys for their loved ones, and I admire all the staff who work directly with those families, and the care and attention they give.

I have the pleasure of leading our team, as Operations Team Leader, overseeing our team workflows and day-to-day management.

I have an IT healthcare background and previously worked Peninsula Health at Frankston Hospital, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and a number of hospitals in NSW and also New Zealand.

In my spare time I am a Scout Leader, currently in the role of State Commissioner of Joey Scouts for Victoria. I am also involved in Scottish dancing, as my family heritage is Scottish. I live with my husband and our two grown-up children (and a really naughty dog!) on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

Sanjeeva Reddy Devarampally Senior IT Analyst

As a newcomer to SMCT, I feel great and humbled to be part of this organisation, where each team does their work with great empathy and care, assisting families to prepare the final journey of their loved ones.

My previous role was as a Senior IT Analyst Engineer at NAB. I have seven years of experience in the industry, and I hold an IT Master’s degree.

In my free time, I enjoy volunteering in the community and deliver free IT classes for international students. So far, I’ve helped 70 international students to land into IT jobs in Australia. I’ve been married for three years and live with my wife in Tarneit.

Ahmed Ali Senior IT Support Consultant

I come from a Managed Services background, and having experienced working for multiple industries, I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work at SMCT. Working at SMCT gives me the opportunity to give back to the community and to help during a crucial time in their life.

I am a father with four beautiful kids and love spending as much time with them as possible. I also volunteer at a local community organisation and love playing soccer during my spare time.

Charlie Perera IT Consultant

I joined SMCT after working for three years for local government, and I’m really enjoying the atmosphere. This is a place where everyone cares about helping one another and supporting customers visiting our premises.

SMCT is a beautiful place to learn and grow. We are engaged in exciting projects that will support our users and clients to work efficiently in the organisation.

These days, I get minimal leisure time with a ten-month-old little angel at home. I am also a part-time student at RMIT, studying a Master of Cyber Security.

Shashika Perera Junior IT Support Officer

I joined SMCT as a Food & Beverage Attendant, but after two years in the organisation, I applied for a position as Junior IT Support Officer. My team and where I work inspires me – being at SMCT is so calm and peaceful with a great environment and beautiful surrounds.

My work is the same as my hobby, which is building computers. Being a support to others gives me joy – I truly enjoy being able to fix any IT related issues in the workplace.
