Beautiful Gardens for the Perfect Wedding
On a beautiful March afternoon, Judith walked arm-in-arm with her two sons down the sweeping lawns of the Garden of No Distant Place.
Her daughter strode ahead, smiling, as the afternoon sun beamed upon the small group of close friends and family. And the dapper figure waiting patiently for Judith in a navy-blue suit? Her new groom, Alan.
At first glance, a cemetery may seem like an unlikely choice of venue for a wedding. But for Judith, who described the elegant garden setting as “pristine”, it was perfect.
Beautiful and meaningful
Springvale Botanical Cemetery holds a special place in Judith’s heart, as both her and Alan’s family rest there. “We wanted to feel their presence at our wedding,” she explained. Her daughter-in-law felt the venue would be a lovely idea and her son relayed the message. After an initial tour, Judith and Alan were convinced it was perfect.
Close friends and family of the couple joined them for the intimate ceremony beneath a canopy of native gums. Some had been initially uncertain as to the choice of venue, Judith admitted, but all doubts had disappeared once they were immersed in the beautiful gardens and serenity of the Garden of No Distant Place.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and guests made their way to their loved ones’ resting places for a special moment of reflection and to lay white roses.
Elegant flowers in world-class surrounds
Judith praised the horticulture team who “excelled themselves” in preparing the garden for the occasion. An elegant, ivory-toned wedding bouquet of roses, freesias, snapdragons and lisianthus flowers from our on-site florist, Café Vita et flores, added another special touch to the couple’s perfect day.
“I can only say thank you so much for allowing us to use the beautiful garden, which was pristine, and your amazing help organising our wedding along the way”, said Judith, who recommends this venue for anyone looking to just have a celebrant for their wedding.
Congratulations, Judith and Alan. We wish you all the best in your next chapter together.
