Temporary Closure of MacPherson Street gate at Melbourne General Cemetery
- 16 August 2024

Recent update 16/08/24:
On 21 August, further essential maintenance works will take place on North Road at the same intersection and impact traffic access again.
The MacPherson Street entry gate and intersecting roads will be closed both times to allow the works to be completed safely.
Update on 29/07/24:
Please note that on Tuesday 30 July and Wednesday 31 July, essential maintenance works will temporarily impact traffic access at the intersection of North, Seventh and Eleventh Avenue at Melbourne General Cemetery
This maintenance will involve proactive plumbing work that will address water leaks on footpaths and roads and improve the amenity of the area.
The safety and wellbeing of our community and team members are our priority, therefore, to allow works to be completed safely, the MacPherson Street entry gate will be closed during this time.
During this period community members will still be able to visit their loved ones in the area but there will be temporary limited/restricted road access.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any concerns during these works, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Support service by phone at 1300 466 904 or email mgc@smct.org.au.
