Padre Pio 3 Opening Event
- 30 May 2019

On Thursday 30 May, we were delighted to welcome over 120 members of our community to Springvale Botanical Cemetery as our third and final Padre Pio Mausoleum was officially opened and blessed.

During the ceremony The Most Reverend Bishop Terence Curtin bestowed a blessing upon the crypts as community members joined us for tea, coffee and an assortment of delicious refreshments prepared by café vita et flores.
This recently completed Mausoleum has been finished to the finest standards and replicates the previous two Padre Pio Mausoleums, offering more options to our Victorian community.
Much like the other Padre Pio Mausoleums, the building is positioned around a landscaped central court yard with a specially commissioned statue of Saint Padre Pio. In this design Saint Padre Pio has his arms outstretched towards two children, with reference to stigmata on his hands of which he is most famous for.
