Community Advisory Committee
The Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) administers nine cemetery locations within metropolitan Melbourne and touches more than half of Victoria’s grieving families who have experienced loss.
SMCT is currently engaging new members and encourages expressions of interest to join our Community Advisory Committee (CAC) as a voluntary member.
At SMCT, we are committed to ensuring our Community Advisory Committee reflects the rich diversity of the Victorian community. We actively encourage applications from individuals across all works of life, including women, young people, people with disabilities, First nations peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, and individuals from various faith backgrounds. Your unique perspectives and experiences are valued and welcomed as we strive to represent the communities we serve.
The committee meets a minimum of four times a year, and:
- provides a mechanism for consumer and community engagement regarding SMCT’s current or proposed products or services.
- provides advice, from consumer and community perspectives, in relation to SMCT’s current or proposed products or services, including major initiatives and changes.
- advises SMCT on community issues in relation to its communication with the communities it serves.
To be considered for CAC membership you will be a community minded person, who is currently active in the community with established formal or informal community or consumer networks. You should have the ability to represent consumer and community views from a broad and inclusive perspective.
We look forward to receiving your submission.
